Sew Betty and Dot has this beautiful and classic Summer Dress Butterick 5718
It deserves a great (quirky) vintage cotton fabric like the one below. Summer should be fun! If you aren't one to wear a quirky dress, make the Bolero out of a print and the dress out of a solid polished cotton.
Here is the print that I think would be a great fit for this dress. You can find it at C'est si Bon Vintage.
This retro Japanese/Hawaiian fabric would be great for the Bolero or for the Dress don't you think?
McCall's 5425 is perfect pattern for beginners and can be made in as little as an hour. It has 4pieces. shoulder straps (1), belt (1) Dress front (1); Dress back (1). The top can be configured in several different ways. For more information or to purchase this pattern, vist Redcurlzs on Etsy.

This Caftan had to be part of the summer dresses! My mother had some very stylish caftans in the 1960s & 1970s but this one is a gem! It even includes the slippers.
Stretch & Sew 2035 can be found at Kinseysue.
What fabric would you use for this one? Sew Betty and Dot has a Vintage Hawaiian Fishing Theme Fabric that could be fun. It would be perfect for someone attending the Hawaiian International Billfish Tournament in August in Kona, Hawaii.
This International Tournament is a big deal in a little town so plan to be seen in this gorgeous design!
